Berklee looking for Studio Maintenance Engineer

Under the direction of the Chief Engineer, the Studio Maintenance Engineer assists in design, construction, upgrades, and preventative maintenance on audio and video equipment in Music Technology Division facilities.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

o Trains, supervises, and closely manages qualified student work study employees to perform routine maintenance duties.

o Performs repairs of MTD audio and video equipment.

o Performs regular maintenance and scheduled upgrades to the MTD production facilities.

o Responsible for the management of inventory and storage of MTD Tech Shop parts and materials.

o Under the direction of the Chief and Associate Chief Engineers, the Studio Maint. Engineer would be responsible for ordering and receiving of MTD parts and materials.

o Maintains records of replacement parts and failure rates of MTD equipment.

o Works with Associate Chief Engineer to troubleshoot Digital Audio Workstation issues and related equipment

o Assists in the design and installation of professional audio and video systems.

o Other duties as assigned.

Required Skills

o Comprehensive operational knowledge of the recording studio environment including: analog tape machines, digital audio workstations, analog and digital production consoles, microphones, stereo & multi channel surround speaker systems and patch bay implementations.

o Comprehensive operational knowledge of studio wiring techniques and electrical grounding schemes.

o Ability to install, test and calibrate professional audio production equipment.

o Good communication and interpersonal skills, required.

Required Experience

o Minimum of 3 years experience maintaining equipment in a professional audio production facility.
